Many small app companies find that it makes more economical and practical sense to crowdtest an app before launching it. All of the smartphones, tablets, computers, and wearables connected to the Internet of Things are making it much more difficult to test software according to traditional methods. Researchers at the University of St. Gallen spent years studying numerous companies that use crowdtesting and found three valuable approaches: testing with an anonymous external crowd, a crowd of employees, or a crowd of customers.
